brought together leading representatives of family companies in Bulgaria, <strong>Dimitar Dimitrov<\/strong> \u2013 Sales Director of <em>Right Pack<\/em> and President of the <em>Next Generation<\/em> at <strong>FBN Bulgaria<\/strong> \u2013 participated in a panel discussion where he openly shared the challenges that the company faces regarding sustainable development and new carbon footprint regulations.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Challenges and New Requirements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Dimitar Dimitrov highlighted that for companies like <em>Right Pack<\/em>, which work with international clients, sustainability has become an increasingly important topic. Around <strong>60% of the company\u2019s turnover<\/strong> comes from countries like Germany and France, where the requirements for sustainability and carbon footprint reporting are becoming stricter.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThree years ago, our clients started requesting reports on the carbon footprint of our products. We haven\u2019t fully implemented this practice yet, but this year we will officially begin tracking and reporting the carbon footprint of our products. This is a complex and challenging process that requires time and effort.\u201d<\/em> \u2013 Dimitrov shared.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15334 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/rightpack.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/D_Dimitrov_Righ-Pack-ustoichivo-proizvodstvo-na-opakovki.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"903\" height=\"592\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rightpack.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/D_Dimitrov_Righ-Pack-ustoichivo-proizvodstvo-na-opakovki.png 903w, https:\/\/rightpack.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/D_Dimitrov_Righ-Pack-ustoichivo-proizvodstvo-na-opakovki-300x197.png 300w, https:\/\/rightpack.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/D_Dimitrov_Righ-Pack-ustoichivo-proizvodstvo-na-opakovki-768x503.png 768w, https:\/\/rightpack.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/D_Dimitrov_Righ-Pack-ustoichivo-proizvodstvo-na-opakovki-705x462.png 705w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 903px) 100vw, 903px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Challenges in Supply Chain Traceability<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>One of the main difficulties for <em>Right Pack<\/em> is <strong>supply chain traceability<\/strong>. Paper production in Europe currently covers only <strong>15-20% of consumption<\/strong>, while the remaining <strong>80% is imported<\/strong> \u2013 primarily from Asia.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s very challenging to verify whether the documents provided by our Asian partners, especially those from China, are entirely accurate. At the same time, European regulations are placing additional restrictions on imports from China. However, finding an alternative is difficult because paper mills in Europe are continuing to shut down.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Employee Motivation and Engagement<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Another serious challenge that Dimitrov highlighted is <strong>convincing employees<\/strong> of the importance of the new carbon footprint reporting requirements.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s difficult to explain to employees why they need to add more work to their daily tasks. It\u2019s crucial to convince them of the significance of sustainable development and that this is not just another obligation, but an important step toward the future of the company.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Right Pack<\/em> plans to invest in additional training and employee qualification to ensure that the team is well-prepared for the implementation of new processes and methodologies.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Incentives vs. Regulations<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Dimitrov is convinced that <strong>incentives<\/strong> are a better mechanism for promoting sustainability compared to excessive regulations.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am much more in favor of incentives rather than regulations. I believe that change should be driven by the owner\u2019s and the company\u2019s internal conviction that this transformation is necessary, not just by imposed external rules. When people see the meaning and benefit behind it, they will be far more motivated to work in this direction.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Where Is Sustainable Production Headed?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><em>Right Pack<\/em> is in the process of adapting to the new requirements and is actively working to reduce the carbon footprint of its products.
